Greeting by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi at the Grant Banquet

With God’s help we came to the end of this Clergy-Laity Congress, during which we examined from various perspectives and points of view and put our hands on the divine words: All things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23), always in reference to the life of this local Church, the chosen and prominent Eparchy of the holiest Ecumenical Throne.

Address by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi during the Archons Reception

It was with great joy that I accepted the kind invitation to dine with you at tonight’s banquet, which you have lovingly organized to honor the Patriarchal Delegation to the 44th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress of the Holy Archdiocese of America. I personally express to you my warm gratitude, and that of His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria.

Greeting by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi on the Commencement of Meetings

It is with sincere and moving sentiments of joy that I and Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria find ourselves amongst you, following the venerable Patriarchal directive to represent His All-Holiness and the venerable Apostolic and Ecumenical Throne of Constantinople, to which we all have the great blessing and honor to belong.

Keynote Address of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios at the 44th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress

With this expression of doxology and thanksgiving to God, we are together again in our 44th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress. We focus on the theme of this congress, which is, “All Things Are Possible to the One Who Believes in Christ”, as we prepare to deal with the challenges that we face as the Greek Orthodox Church in America, the Eparchy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the West.

Greeting by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi

Today—most especially in the eparchies of the Orthodox Diaspora, such as the Holy Archdiocese of America and the Metropolises of the New World—it is with great enthusiasm that women assume an active role in ecclesiastical life, primarily through Ladies Philopotchos Chapters.

All Things are Possible to the One Who Believes in Christ

Throughout the Holy Scriptures we see the power and potential of faith. Faith is shown in the marvelous works of God among His people and the amazing miracles of Christ. Through His life and ministry and His glorious Resurrection, we see that through faith we can have life and have it abundantly.
